A 23-year-old man was shot outside a Pleasanton nightclub early Sunday morning when fights moved from the bar to the parking lot, according to Pleasanton police. Arriving officers encountered a large number of club attendees fighting inside who were uncooperative with officers and security personnel, police said.
As the estimated 450 patrons exited the club and headed to the parking lot, many fights continued. Around 1:30 a.m. officers were aware of a gunshot fired in the lot and were told that a man had been struck by a bullet on the north side of the club near Kinder’s Meats, Deli and BBQ restaurant, according to police. Officers found the wounded Fremont man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.
He also suffered a head injury and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley in an ambulance. He was listed in stable condition with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police. Officers interviewed security personnel and people who had been in the area during the shooting but were not able to identify a suspect, police said.
