A 15-year-old Marin City boy was arrested Saturday on suspicion of stealing a woman’s iPhone at a bus stop, a sheriff’s sergeant said. The woman said the teen grabbed her phone from her hands at the Golden Gate Transit bus stop at Donahue Street in Marin City and fled.
Sheriff’s deputies got a description of the suspect from witnesses and from an off-duty sheriff’s deputy who had driven by the bus stop shortly before the incident, Sgt. Craig Scardina said. The deputy recognized a Marin City teen sitting on a bench at the bus stop, Scardina said.
Deputies contacted the teen at his home and the victim identified him as the robbery suspect, Scardina said. The phone was recovered and the teen was arrested and booked into Marin County juvenile hall.
