Jared Sung Yoon Herdt, 30, of Sacramento, a.k.a. the “Skateboard Bandit”, was sentenced to eight years in prison and three years parole after release, said Lauren Horwood, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of California. Herdt was facing a maximum sentence of 100 years in prison for multiple bank robberies .

The California Department of Corrections and the Sunnyvale Police Department are currently seeking Jared Sung Yoon Herdt on a warrant charging him with Parole Violation. Detective Jim Choi reports that police officers recently found a stolen car in front of the Sunnyvale Public Library. Inside the car officers found evidence indicating that Herdt was either driving or a passenger in the car.
Detectives believe that Herdt has been in the San Francisco, California Bay Area, Central California, Modesto area and in Oregon. Herdt was originally sent to prison after being convicted of auto theft. He was paroled to the San Diego area when he absconded supervision in 2008. Herdt had dental braces applied in Oregon and may still be wearing them.
