The Orange County Sheriff’s Department in Florida, is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in this surveillance video. Detectives report that at on December 19, 2011, at about 2:45 am two men, armed with guns, stormed the Kangaroo Express store in Lockhart, Florida.
The clerk, who was working alone, is seen being forced to his feet as the suspects ransack the area behind the counter. He cooperates with the robbers at first, putting up his hands and calmly opening the cash register. As one of the gunmen stuffs his pocket with cash, he commands the clerk: ‘Open the safe’. The clerk responds that only a manager can open the safe, and that it ‘takes two keys and 30 minutes’ to do it.
Unsatisfied, the suspects shove their guns in the clerks face, again ordering him to open the safe. When the clerk again says that he is unable to open it, both suspects thrust their guns against his head and count to three. As the helpless clerk crouches on the ground, one of the gunmen pulls the trigger, but only a click is heard as the weapon jams. The suspect tries to fix the gun as the other continues to push the clerk to open the safe. As the gun fails to fire again, one of the gunmen is heard saying: ‘Let’s go’ and the suspects flee out the door.
