Police are investigating a fatal shooting in East San Jose tonight. Officers responded to the 200 block of Alexander Avenue on reports of a shooting at around 8:30 p.m. and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at around 9 p.m.The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown, although police said they are exploring the possibility that the shooting was gang-related.Tonight’s shooting is the city’s first homicide of the year, police said.
