Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in East San Jose on Thursday night as 25-year-old Lucas Ricardo. Ricardo was shot around 8:30 p.m. as he was standing in the driveway of his home in the 200 block of Alexander Avenue, police said. He was taken to Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 9 p.m.

No suspects have been identified and the motive is unknown, although police said they are exploring the possibility that the shooting was gang-related. Ricardo was not affiliated with any gangs, police said. The shooter, who may have been accompanied by other suspects, fled in a white Toyota Camry or similar type of vehicle, according to police.  Ricardo’s death is the city’s first homicide of the year.
