Two women are now behind bars after burglarizing a home in Pinole last week, police said today. Oakland resident Efrelyn Inocencio, 28, and 29-year-old Jo Lynn Rodriguez of Santa Rosa were arrested shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday after officers spotted the pair exiting a home in the 600 block of Carlotta Circle wearing gloves and carrying several apparently stolen items, according to police.
Moments earlier, a female resident had called police from a bedroom closet inside the home to report strange sounds coming from outside of the house, according to Pinole police Commander Matthew Messier. While officers were en route to the home, the resident told them that an intruder had entered the home. Upon arrival, officers saw the two suspects and arrested them after a brief struggle, Messier said. Police said the two women broke into the house by smashing a side glass window.
Each suspect had outstanding felony warrants for theft-related charges and both have been charged anew with burglary and resisting arrest. Messier said police are investigating whether Inocencio and Rodriguez are responsible for a string of similar burglaries in Pinole over the past few weeks.
