An autopsy conducted today has revealed that a 22-year-old Bay Point man found murdered Monday night died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said this afternoon. A resident of the first block of Ambrose Avenue called authorities at about 9:45 p.m. to report a wounded person there, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
After attempting to revive the victim, Maurice Murray, emergency responders pronounced him dead at the home. Lee said detectives are treating the case as a homicide. So far, they have not determined a suspect in the apparent slaying and are not releasing further details of the investigation.
