* Felipe Hernandez Bravo Jr. Murdered, Stuffed in Trunk

A Los Banos man was found dead and stuffed in the trunk of a car in the Moss Landing area this morning, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said today. The body was reported around 9:30 a.m. by California State Parks officers, who discovered it in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle parked on Potrero Road near a bridge over the Old Salinas River.

The body was found to be that of an Hispanic male, and was later identified through fingerprints as Felipe Hernandez Bravo, Jr., a 23-year-old Los Banos resident who is also know the frequent the Salinas area. The cause of death remains unknown until an autopsy, which is scheduled for Tuesday, officials said. However, there were signs of foul play at the scene and the death is being treated as a homicide.
