Fremont police are searching for a woman who struck a man with her vehicle while fleeing from police in Oakland this afternoon. Fremont officers contacted Erica Rojo, 27, at around 3:34 p.m. near 98th and Edes avenues in Oakland, Fremont police Lt. Kimberley Petersen said. The officers were on foot when they approached Rojo, who was in a vehicle.
Rojo was wanted on two felony warrants for possession and sales of drugs, Petersen said. When the officers approached, Rojo drove onto a sidewalk and struck a man who had exited a liquor store, throwing him 51 feet, Petersen said. The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Rojo fled the scene and had not been located as of 11 p.m. Her vehicle was recovered in Oakland, Petersen said.
