A man was arrested in San Anselmo early this morning after an alarm was set off when he allegedly broke into a convenience store via its roof, police said. Police responded at 4:57 a.m. to the activation of an alarm at the Quick and Easy Market at 807 San Anselmo Ave. An officer arrived at the market and heard some rustling noises in a nearby tree, where 42-year-old Damon Parks was found, according to police.
Parks, a San Anselmo resident, came to the ground and consented to a search of his person as well as a plastic garbage bag he had with him, police said. Burglary tools were found on Parks while the bag contained property belonging to the market. Investigators determined that he had entered and exited the store through the roof after climbing up the nearby tree, according to police.
Parks was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property, police said.
