Pleasant Hill police are searching for a man who robbed a Chase bank at gunpoint Thursday before fleeing in a white van. The suspect, described as a white male in his late 40s to early 50s, entered the Chase, located at 1898 Contra Costa Blvd., shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Gary Brown. He displayed a black handgun to a teller and demanded money, then fled out of the bank and over a cement wall with the loot.
The suspect was last seen driving away in a white van on East Vivian Drive and then south on Contra Costa Boulevard, Brown said.The suspect is described as being approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, and wearing a brown coat and tan cap.His vehicle is a faded white van, possibly a Chevy, with no side windows but windows in the back. The license plate number is unknown.
