A cab driver was robbed after picking up two passengers in Gilroy early Wednesday morning, police said. Around 2 a.m. police responded to 7250 Monterey Road where a taxi driver had reported a robbery after the driver had been called to the intersection of Rogers Lane and Hoover Court, police said.
Once the driver arrived, two suspects entered the taxi and placed an unknown object against the back of the driver’s head and demanded money. They removed cash and the driver’s wallet from his pockets, according to police. The suspects then fled toward Rogers Lane with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The victim drove about a mile away from the area to Monterey Road and called police, police said. The suspects are described as a Hispanic man and woman. The man is about 21 years old and was wearing a red baseball cap, a black flannel T-shirt and jeans. The woman, believed to be about 19 years old, was wearing a black flannel jacket and tight jeans, police said.
