Police are investigating whether a shooting that sent a bullet through an 18-year-old’s hand Friday evening in San Leandro was gang-related, police said.Around 6:15 p.m. San Leandro police received a call from St. Rose Hospital in Hayward about a gunshot victim who said he had been shot on the 2100 block of Marina Boulevard in San Leandro, police said.
Police said the victim, who is from Hayward, and two other males were standing in the area when they heard several gunshots. The victim said he ducked and was shot in the hand.The victim and one of the other people with him at the time of the shooting could not provide a suspect description or a motive for the assault, police said.The two also would not provide police with information or a way for police to contact the third person with them, according to police.
