A woman wearing a pink beret was arrested on Monday afternoon for allegedly trying to burglarize a home in Hillsborough, police said. Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on View Haven Road when a resident said she returned home and found an unidentified woman in her driveway at about 3 p.m., according to Hillsborough police.

Arriving officers found Los Angeles resident Alyse Woodard, 24, in the area and immediately detained her, police said. Woodard was arrested for residential burglary and police impounded her car, which was a two-door silver Toyota Celica. Investigators are searching for witnesses who might have seen Woodard in the area at the time of the burglary. She was wearing a pink beret-style hat, a white-and-gray tank top and dark pants.
