* Newark Police SWAT Team Secure Home on Olive Street in Search of Suspects

A man inside a Newark home suffered minor injuries after someone shot several rounds into the occupied home Friday night, police said. The 25-year-old man was hit while in a home in the 37200 block of Olive Street. The incident was reported at 11:11 p.m. The man was treated at the hospital and released, police said.
There was at least one other adult inside the home who was not injured in the shooting, police said. In the following investigation, police brought in a SWAT team to secure a residence where the suspects were believed to be. The shooting appears to be connected to gang activity and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
