Police have released a sketch of a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred in East Oakland earlier this month. A 27-year-old woman reported being attacked in the 1300 block of 91st Avenue at about 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 4. She told investigators a man had forced her against a vehicle and sexually assaulted her, police said. She was then able to break free and run away.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, a goatee and a dark complexion. The night of the assault, he was wearing a black hat, a black hooded jacket and black sweatpants, police said.

Police are reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings, stay in well-lighted and populated areas, and to lock car doors after getting into a vehicle.
