A 30-year-old Vallejo man was fatally shot today, becoming the city’s 16th homicide victim this year, Vallejo police said. Michael Webster, 30, was shot during a confrontation at around 1 p.m., Sgt. Jeff Bassett said. The incident began in the 200 block of Illinois Street, Bassett said.
Webster fled after he was shot and collapsed a short distance away in the 200 block of Stutz Alley, Bassett said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Webster had previous contacts with police, Bassett said. Police did not release any information about the murder suspect.
