A woman was shot while struggling with a purse-snatcher on San Francisco’s Geary Boulevard early Sunday morning, police said. The shooting was reported at 2:57 a.m. near Scott Street. The 49-year-old victim was walking west on Geary Boulevard when a man approached and tried to pull the purse from her shoulder, according to police.
As the victim was struggling with the suspect, he pulled out a gun and shot her. The bullet grazed her stomach then struck her arm, police said. The suspect, a man in his 20s, fled with the purse and had not been found as of this morning. A passerby stopped and called 911 for the victim, whose injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to police.
