Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of stealing from an Apple store early this morning. At about 3:25 a.m., a patrol officer was transporting prisoners to jail when he noticed broken glass and a large pickaxe on the ground in front of the Apple store at 23 N. Santa Cruz Ave., police said.  Upon closer inspection, the officer saw a person inside the store wearing a mask and all black clothing stealing various Apple products.

With the help of additional officers, the person was taken into custody as he was exiting the store. He was identified as a 15-year-old boy from San Jose. Officers found him in possession of a duffel bag filled with various Apple products. Investigators believe the boy acted alone and used a family member’s car to drive to the store.  The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on charges of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the police investigations unit at (408) 827-3209.
