Concord police are investigating the shooting deaths of several geese at a park in the city over the weekend.  Officers went to Newhall Park at 8 a.m. on Saturday after receiving calls that numerous water birds had been shot to death, police said.

Arriving officers found four geese that had been killed and one that was suffering a gunshot wound, police said.  The killings remain under investigation, but police believe all of the birds had been deliberately shot.
