A Rohnert Park man was arrested this morning after he allegedly fled from officers responding to a report of a home burglary in Petaluma, police said. Officers were called to the 200 block of Grant Avenue around 2:35
a.m. after someone tried to burglarize a residence there, according to police. As they arrived, they spotted two males in a car speeding away from the neighborhood, according to police.

When the officers attempted to stop the car, both suspects fled on foot. One suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Charles Dunleavy, was found and determined to have been the driver, police said. The vehicle had recently been reported stolen, and Dunleavy was found with burglary tools, according to police. He was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and possession of burglary tools, and was taken to Sonoma County Jail.
