Sheriff’s officials have identified the man who was arrested this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing in Pacheco as 19-year-old Frank Carter. Carter, a Hercules resident, was arrested early this morning on suspicion of fatally stabbing a man Wednesday night, a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman said. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic confrontation at a home in the 200 block of Center Avenue at 9:20 p.m., spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
Arriving officers found 46-year-old Richard Stratton in the driveway of the residence suffering stab wounds, Lee said. Stratton was taken to John Muir Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Lee said that a multi-agency search was launched for the stabbing suspect.
Carter was arrested early this morning and booked into the county’s main jail at around 7 a.m. He is being held on $1 million bail, Lee said. According to Lee, the victim and the suspect knew each other, although officials are not immediately releasing details regarding their relationship or motive.
