* Julio Christian Serrano-Rosales man shot near North Monterey County High School in Castroville dies

A man shot near North Monterey County High School in unincorporated Castroville on Thursday evening succumbed to his injuries today, according to the Monterey County coroner’s office. Deputies responded at 7:33 p.m. Thursday to a report of a vehicle blocking the roadway near the high school at 13990 Castroville Blvd., sheriff’s officials said. They arrived to find 27-year-old Julio Christian Serrano-Rosales suffering from a gunshot wound. Serrano-Rosales was airlifted to Regional Medical Center of San Jose where he died today. No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting and no suspect information was available as of this morning.
