A traffic stop has turned into a manhunt today after police tried to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen and the driver rammed the officer’s vehicle before fleeing into a nearby yard, a police spokeswoman said. At about 10:50 a.m., officers attempted to stop the reportedly stolen vehicle in the 2500 block of 80th Avenue, Oakland police Officer Johnna Watson said.

“When they tried to stop the car, the suspect rammed the stolen car into the police car,” Watson said.  After the suspect fled into the yard, police established a perimeter in the area but had yet to make an arrest as of noontime, she said. No officers were injured during the traffic stop, Watson said.
