A Martinez man was arrested early this morning on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbing his girlfriend at their home,
according to police. Around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of Mill Road and found a 35-year-old woman inside the home with multiple stab wounds to the torso, police said.
Police arrested the woman’s boyfriend, Kevin Johnson, 41, on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and battery of a cohabitant. When police arrived at the scene, a neighbor was administering first aid to the victim. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition this evening, police said.
