One man was hospitalized Monday night after he was apparently hit in the head with a baseball bat during a fight in Half Moon Bay, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot outside a More for Less store at 501 Kelly Avenue at about 11:40 p.m., sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Lunny said.
Arriving officers saw three men and a woman standing in the parking lot yelling at each other, the sheriff’s office said. One of the men was walking backwards and carrying a silver baseball bat.One witness said that the two men, later identified as brothers Paul and Jesse Williams, were allegedly trying to beat up Jorge Navvaro, Lunny said.
One of the men reportedly smashed the windshield of Novvaro’s friend’s car. Jesse Williams appeared to have been hit in the head and was drifting in and out of consciousness, Lunny said. He was taken to Stanford University Hospital. Paul Williams was arrested for vandalism and public intoxication.
