A man was stabbed to death in San Jose early this morning, possibly after a fight, police said. Police responded to the 200 block of Virginia Street at 1:39 a.m. after receiving reports of a fight. As officers arrived on the scene, they received a second call that a man was down a short distance away in the area of Virginia Street and Vine Avenue.
Officers responded to the second location to find a man unconscious on the sidewalk with at least one stab wound. The man was transported to Valley Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries at 2:33 a.m. Police have no suspects in the stabbing and have not yet determined a motive. The stabbing is San Jose’s 37th murder of 2011.
