* Lorenzo Lopez Fernandez Shot and Killed at Childrens Party in Las Lomas

Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a lone gunman in a shooting Friday that left one man dead. Deputies responded to 77 Overpass Road in the unincorporated community of Las Lomas at around 7:10 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of a shooting, according to the sheriff’s office. Upon arrival, deputies found 18-year-old Las Lomas resident Lorenzo Lopez Fernandez lying dead in a home’s driveway.  Fernandez was at a children’s party at the home when a male approached the house and started shooting at him, according to the sheriff’s office. Police were interviewing several witnesses and the investigation
is ongoing.
