A woman was arrested in Richmond Wednesday morning in connection with a recent string of home burglaries in El Cerrito, police said. Simone Aguilar was arrested after being identified as a suspect in one of the series of burglaries reported in recent weeks, which occurred mostly in El Cerrito’s hilly, residential neighborhoods, according to police.

Aguilar was taken into custody without incident at about 7 a.m. Wednesday at her home in Richmond, where investigators found property from several victims in the El Cerrito burglaries, as well as property from an unreported theft in Sonoma, police said. El Cerrito police held a community meeting about the burglaries last week and are continuing to investigate the cases.
