ID #11-113
On Saturday, January 22, 2011, Long Beach police officers responded to a convenience store in the 1900-block of East 4th Street regarding a call of shots fired. When officers arrived, they discovered the body of 53-year-old Sor Phouam, who was a well-known and long-time store employee. Sor had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
One of the suspects removes a chrome handgun from his waistband and points it at the clerk. Seeing the store clerk being robbed, the customer tries to leave the store but is stopped by the suspect with the gun, who demands his money. After taking money from the customer, the suspect turns his attention back to Sor and fatally shoots him.
Long Beach homicide detectives are asking the male customer who was robbed by the two suspects to come forward and contact them. Detectives believe this second robbery victim may have information which may be useful to the murder investigation of victim Sor. WARNING VIDEO IS DISTURBING AND NOT SUITIBLE FOR CHILDREN.
