A King City man was found with prescription medication stolen from a neighbor after he allegedly entered her home through a kitchen window on Monday morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to 51201 Pine Canyon Road in unincorporated King City shortly before 8 a.m. after a woman said she had seen a man in her home.
The man fled before deputies arrived. The suspect was identified as the victim’s neighbor, 31-year-old Raul Morales, but deputies could not find him at his home, sheriff’s officials said. A short time later, the victim called the sheriff’s office to report that Morales was leaving the area in a white van.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and detained Morales, and investigators conducted a lineup in which the victim identified him as the man who was in her home, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies then found stolen medication. Morales was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to Monterey County Jail.
