Shots were fired by a teen member of the Norteno gang during a fight that occurred while a baptism celebration was under way at a mobile home recreation center in unincorporated King City on Saturday night, according to the Monterey County coroner’s office.

About 150 adults and children were at the celebration at the Pine Canyon Mobile Home Estate recreation center at 51201 Pine Canyon Road when the fight began around 10:45 p.m., sheriff’s officials said. Two boys started fighting in the street and one of them, believed to be a 16-year-old from King City, pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired it several times into the air, sheriff’s officials said.

The boys were last seen running south into the trailer park, but authorities could not locate them. No injuries were reported, and the fight appears to be gang-related, according to the sheriff’s office.
