Four dogs were poisoned by thieves intent on stealing nine medical marijuana plants from a Vacaville home, police said today. A resident on the 300 block of Temple Drive contacted police Friday to report that the plants had been stolen from his backyard somewhere between 3:30 and 5:15 that morning, said Sgt. Charlie Spruill. The plants were valued at around $3,000 each.
In addition to the missing plants, the resident found that his four boxers “seemed to be out of it,” and that blue pills and pieces of hot dogs, some of which had been stuffed with the pills, were strewn around his yard, Spruill said. The pills are thought to have been CVS brand Tylenol PM. The dogs were treated and appear to be doing well, according to police.
