Two men were indicted in federal court Thursday for selling more than a dozen firearms, including a machine gun and a sawed off shotgun, to undercover San Jose police officers, U.S. Department of Justice officials said. Jose Gilberto Ortiz of San Jose sold approximately 17 firearms to undercover agents out of a mobile hot dog stand that he operated at Alum Rock and Foss avenues in San Jose, officials said.
Guillermo Gonzalez Castillo of Los Angeles was also indicted and charged with two sales of methamphetamine to the same officers. The indictment charges include 10 counts of a felon in possession of firearms, seven counts of possession of a firearm by an illegal alien and two counts of possession of 50 or more grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, officials said.
