* Jeffrey Walker and Jennifer Wheatley allegedly broke into a vacant home in unincorporated Monterey on Manor Road

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two transients on Tuesday morning after they allegedly broke into a vacant home in unincorporated Monterey, sheriff’s officials said. The deputies found Jeffrey Walker, 26, and Jennifer Wheatley, 22, at a home in the 1400 block of Manor Road. They were in possession of burglary tools, fictitious checks and marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.

The pair allegedly entered the home through a rear window, investigators said.Deputies had responded to the address to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a vacant residence, sheriff’s officials said. Wheatley and Walker were booked into Monterey County Jail on a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges.
