A Greenfield man police believe is a gang member was arrested after a probation search at his home Sunday morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Robert Torres, 36, was on probation with search and seizure and was prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms.
There were four warrants out for his arrest, sheriff’s officials said. The suspect was found in possession of methamphetamine packaged for sale at 1088 Apple Ave. in Greenfield. A search of his bedroom revealed he had a digital scale, rifle and a police scanner tuned to the local law enforcement channel.
He also had a surveillance camera with a live feed of his front yard, according to officials. He was taken into custody for previously issued arrest warrants and additional charges including narcotics possession and a gang offense. He was transported and booked at the Monterey County Jail.
