* Mexican Marines Battle with Drug Cartel Insurgents Caught on Camera
Published by Junior Staff Writer on October 11, 2011
Not far from the US Border, Mexican marines on a search and destroy mission encounter drug cartel gunmen, possibly from the Zetas cartel that attack the marines with machine guns and hand granades. A firefight ensues and is caught on camera. The video was taken by an amateur cameraman. It demonstrates how the fog of war can create confusion and difficulty calling in for reinforcements.
The marines are also lacking critical combat air support. Despite this, the marines are bravely fighting a ruthless enemy that shows no quarter and will murder the marines if they are captured. This should serve as another reminder that there is another war next door, more violent than the war in Afghanistan, that is being fought by poor, but very brave third world soldiers, sailors and marines. They stand alone. No NATO troops, No United Nations troops, No European Union troops. No American troops.
Editors Note: FW does not advocate foreign military intervention.
