Two residents blocked several would-be intruders from entering their Livermore apartment on Sunday night, police said. At 9:12 p.m., police received a report that several male suspects had attempted to enter an apartment in the Castilleja Del Arroyo complex at 975 Murrieta Blvd., including one armed with a black handgun.
One of the suspects and a resident struggled in the doorway of the apartment until the resident and his roommate forced the intruder out. The suspects then broke the front window and fled, police said. When police arrived, the suspects were gone.
Police said several minutes passed between the time of the attempted home invasion and the time the residents called 911, and investigators believe the crime might be drug-related.
