The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office working with federal and state departments conducted nearly three dozen probation and parole searches and sex offender compliance checks throughout the county Thursday, sheriff’s officials said. The U.S. Marshals, state parole and Santa Cruz probation offices worked with sheriff’s officials to conduct seven parole/probation searches and 27 residence compliance checks for registered sex offenders, according to officials.
The check led to two arrests of two men from unincorporated Watsonville. Suspect Lloyd McBroom, 56, was arrested on suspicion of failing to disclose the address that he was living at, according to sheriff’s officials. The second suspect Scott Martin, 57, was arrested on suspicion of a parole violation. The 34 combined probation, parole and compliance checks were conducted in unincorporated areas of Live Oak, Aptos and Watsonville.
