A man was arrested after a Novato bank manager called police Wednesday afternoon about a forged check.Officers arrived at a Chase Bank in the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, located at 251 Vintage Way, just before 2 p.m. when the bank manager said a man was trying to pass a forged check, police said.
The manager said the suspect had left and was walking toward a nearby Costco. Police found a man matching the suspect’s description and detained him in the parking lot near Costco. The suspect, 43-year-old Richmond resident Denmentus Mitchell, was arrested on suspicion of possessing forged notes, making a fictitious check, using others’ identification, and violating parole, police said. He was booked into Marin County jail.
