* Robbery in Petaluma at Edith Street suspect red Chevrolet pickup

Police are searching for a man and a woman who attempted to rob a man in Petaluma after striking the victim with a metal bar, police said. The attack happened at 4:08 p.m. in the 200 block of Edith Street, where the man was walking at the time. The two suspects pulled up in a red Chevrolet pickup truck and ran at the victim from the truck.

The woman hit the victim on the side of the head with a metal bar while the man tried to take the victim’s backpack, police said. The victim fought with the man and was able to hold onto his backpack. Both suspects fled in the truck they arrived in, heading east on East Washington Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was released later.

The man was described as white, between 30 and 45-years-old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair, a thick mustache and a goatee. The woman was described as white, in her 30s, with a medium build and tattoos on both arms.
