Published by Staff Writer on September 27, 2011
Three suspects wearing Halloween masks and surgical rubber gloves tried to rob a Pleasant Hill 7-Eleven early this morning, police said. The trio — one of whom was armed with a semiautomatic handgun — entered the convenience store in the 2200 block of Morello Ave.
just before 3 a.m., prompting the clerk, who was alone in the store, to lock himself in the employee bathroom for about 15 minutes before tripping a silent alarm. Security camera footage captured the suspects standing for several seconds after the clerk fled, then exiting the store without taking anything, police said.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving the silent alarm alert but were unable to locate the three suspects. They were clad in dark clothing and long-sleeve hooded sweatshirts pulled over their heads.
