An elderly Fremont man was killed Sunday and another arrested in what police believe was an alcohol-fueled crash. Todd Lovejoy, 53, was arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after rear-ending 83-year-old Irving Williams’ pickup truck on Mission Boulevard at King Avenue.

Sgt. Mark Dang said the initial crash propelled the 83-year-old’s truck into a nearby light pole. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene soon after. Police were already searching the area at around 4 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about a truck that was running red lights and stopping at green lights, Dang said. No further information was immediately available.
