San Anselmo police are asking residents to be on the lookout for a man who tried to get a 10-year-old boy to come into his car on Wednesday evening. At about 8:05 p.m., the boy was riding his bicycle north on Butterfield Road when he was approached by a vehicle described as being blue or green and having a square back with horizontal lines across the brake lights, police said.
The driver of the car asked the boy if he wanted to “go for a ride,” and when the boy refused, the man drove away, according to police. The driver was described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old who was wearing a white T-shirt, had a buzz haircut and was wearing a gold chain with a cross on the end of it, police said. Officers have searched extensively for the man and vehicle, but have not found them as of today.
