A Woodacre man is being held on $50,000 bail in Marin County Jail after he was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of child cruelty for allegedly leaving a child unattended in a warm car, authorities said. Sergei Andrey Tchelakov, 47, was arrested by Fairfax police at 765 Center Blvd., the location of the Iron Springs Pub & Brewery, at about 2:50 p.m. Monday, a police sergeant said.

Officers were flagged down by someone who noticed that a child had been left alone in a car on what was a warm afternoon, Sgt. James O’Callaghan said. The child was not injured, and was taken into custody by a relative, he said. The Marin County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and deciding whether to file charges. According to the jail’s booking log, Tchelakov is a soccer coach.
