* Terrance Smith fatally shot in Oakland on 74th Avenue

Police in Oakland have identified a 20-year-old man who was fatally shot in the city on Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2600 block of 74th Avenue at about 3:05 p.m., and found Oakland resident Terrance Smith suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Officer Holly Joshi said. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, Joshi said.

Police believe that a second victim, an 18-year-old Oakland man who was contacted later at a hospital, was wounded in the same shooting. The second victim is expected to survive. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Oakland Police Department’s major crimes section at (510) 238-3529.
