* Petaluma Police Asking For Public’s Help in Locating Kidnapping Suspect
Published by Junior Staff Writer on September 4, 2011
Police are looking for a man who attempted to kidnap a woman in Petaluma early this morning. An officer on patrol heard a woman screaming for help at about 2:15 a.m. The officer located a 23-year-old woman on Water Street near East Washington Street who said that a man had approached her and told her to come with him. When she said no, the suspect grabbed her around the neck and pulled her to the ground, according to police. The woman fought back, and the suspect fled. A police search of the area failed to locate the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s who wore a black shirt and jeans at the time of the attempted kidnapping.
