On Monday August 29th at approximately 9:10pm, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a pedestrian stop on a suspicious person possibly associated with a stolen vehicle, at the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard & Tantau Avenue in the city of Cupertino.
During the contact between the Sheriff’s Deputy and the suspect, shots were fired. The suspect was hit with non-life threatening wounds and taken into custody.
The incident is being investigated by Sheriff’s Detectives and further information is being gathered at this time.
Sheriff’s Investigators are asking that the public avoid the area during morning commute hours, as Crime Scene Investigators will possibly still be processing the area for evidence.
