A Windsor man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Santa Rosa on Saturday that left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. The shooting occurred shortly before noon on Saturday as the victim, 20-year-old Maurice Walker, was walking to a 7-Eleven on Corby Avenue from his home on Peach Court, Sgt. Steve Fraga said. A white car drove past him and stopped, and someone inside opened the passenger-side door and shot Walker in the leg, Fraga said. Walker was taken to a hospital, treated for his wound and released.

Early Sunday, detectives located the suspect, 21-year-old Paul Reyes. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 9800 block of  Eastside Road in Windsor, and detectives obtained search warrants for his home and car. Reyes was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of shooting at a person from a motor vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Santa Rosa Police Department’s Violent Crimes Team at (707) 543-3590.
